Background

I grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, attended Glasgow School of Art and graduated in 1970 from Derby College of Art, School of Design and Creative Photography. I immigrated to Canada in 1974.

For 35 years I worked as a freelance commercial location photographer, sustaining myself through that work while keeping personal projects running alongside it. My photographs are held in private and public collections. Today I continue my personal work, still finding new territory worth exploring.

The Marfa Connection

When travelling through the American Southwest in 2010 with my Airstream trailer, I came across a small town in Texas. I knew of Donald Judd from work I had seen, but was unaware of his history in Marfa. Over the next 15 years I would return to spend part of each winter there. It became my second home.

This is a short video done for Adobe (the software company, not the mudbricks) produced by ALCHEMYcreative that I was happy to be a part of.
